North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA/TAA)

The North American Free Trade Agreement created Trade Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA) for workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced as a result of the implementation of NAFTA.

NAFTA-TAA covers those cases where production has shifted by the firm or subdivision to Mexico or Canada.

All NAFTA-TAA individuals must be in approved TAA training to qualify for Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA).
