The Arkansas Department of Labor will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 305 of the offices of the Department of Labor, 10421 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205. The public hearing will be conducted for the purpose of accepting public comment on the proposed adoption of a new rule regarding the administration and enforcement of Act 453 of 2009. The act amended the state law that provided employer-required drug tests, physicals, and medical exams to be provided at no cost to the applicant or employee. The proposed regulation includes provisions for administrative procedures; definitions; record-keeping; and enforcement, including penalties. The proposed effective date of the regulations is May 1, 2010.
Written comment will be accepted by the agency through 4:30 p.m. on March 25, 2010.
