ARKANSAS MINORITY HEALTH COMMISSION OFFERS HIV/AIDS COMMUNITY GRANT OPPORTUNITY

The Arkansas Minority Health Commission is inviting proposals for a community grant opportunity designed to address HIV/AIDS in minority communities in Arkansas. Letters of intent to apply should be submitted no later than January 5, 2009. Interested parties may attend a workshop held on January 13, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. held at the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center. There will also be a Press Conference on January 14, 2009 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the University Towers Building, 1123 S. University Ave. Suite 312, Little Rock.

"Given the most recent statistics regarding AIDS within minority populations, it is both appropriate and necessary that Arkansas Minority Health Commission provides opportunities for those organizations in our state to address the perils and devastation of this pandemic." says Dr. Bryant-Williams, executive director for Arkansas Minority Health Commission.

The Arkansas Minority Health Commission's mission is to assure all minority Arkansans access to health care that is equal to the care provided to other citizens of the state and to seek ways to increase awareness, provide education, address, and prevent diseases and conditions that are prevalent among minority populations.
